Factory Medical Officer

Role & responsibilities

• Conduct Health Awareness
• Conduct health awareness campaigns and ergonomic assessments and appeal employees to protect their own health from such hazards.
• Provide health and hygiene education and counselling employees to maintain both in good order.
• Conduct awareness campaigns on first aid and educate employees on importance of first aid.
• Medical Care:
• Manage OHC operations completely.
• Conduct medical examinations, including pre-employment and periodic health check-ups, prepare applicable forms for each medical check-up and maintain record.
• Maintain accurate medical records and make it traceable during any audit.
• Diagnose and treat common illnesses and workplace injuries.
• Manage medical emergencies happened if any in the factory.
• Provide first aid treatment to workers including suturing of minor wounds.
• Educate all employees on injury prevention.
• Conduct Hepatitis B and Typhoid vaccination for food handlers as per requirement of FSSAI regulation.
• Suggest type and quality of medicines to be maintained in the OHC. Initiate reordering proactively well within the time.
• Manage bio medical waste as per statutory requirement.
• Participate actively with emergency response team at plant site.
• He shall provide his MBBS and AFIH certificate for submission to the Director of Factories.
• Record Management:
• Prepare and maintain health records of every employee in the prescribed forms.
• Prepare and maintain vaccination record for applicable employees.
• All record shall be easily traceable and auditable.
