Mechanical Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

Operations & Maintenance:

• Supervise and maintain coal handling equipment such as conveyors, crushers, stackers, reclaimers, chutes, and feeders.
• Monitor the coal transportation system, including wagon tipplers, truck unloaders, and belt conveyors.
• Ensure smooth functioning of dust suppression and extraction systems to control coal dust emissions.

Equipment Reliability & Troubleshooting:

• Identify mechanical failures and perform root cause analysis (RCA) to reduce downtime.
• Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of CHP equipment.
• Oversee the lubrication, alignment, and balancing of rotating equipment such as gearboxes, motors, and pumps.

Safety & Compliance:

• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards in coal handling operations.
• Implement safety measures to prevent hazards like coal dust explosions, spontaneous combustion, and fire risks.
• Maintain compliance with environmental regulations and pollution control norms.

Process Optimization & Documentation:

• Identify and implement measures for increasing the efficiency of coal handling systems.
• Maintain maintenance logs, failure reports, and technical documentation.
• Coordinate with plant engineers, electrical engineers, and operations teams for seamless coal flow.
