HR Mishandles Posh Complaint!
I'm so upset to hear about what happened at this company. Their HR department completely mishandled a Posh complaint. They blamed the victim and tried to cover it up. It's absolutely disgusting. I'm really angry about it. It's time for employees to stand together and demand better treatment. Maybe a union could help us protect ourselves

How to Contribute More to Meetings?
My manager suggested that I speak up more in meetings, which got me thinking. I'm not sure what else to say besides the basics.
Does anyone else here struggle with this? Any tips for contributing more to meetings? I'd appreciate some advice!

Have you ever worked somewhere where people acted really weird?
At my last job, everyone was so strange. They were nice at first, but then they started hating me for no reason. They’d make fun of me, talk bad about me behind my back, and even act annoyed when I tried to be friendly.
It was like always worried about doing something wrong. Even the few good people seemed to be part of the drama. They’d pretend to like certain people, but then talk trash about them.
One time, I didn’t know about a meeting, and someone made a mean comment about it. It was really weird.
And don’t get me started on the looks! I have some problems with my eyes, and everyone seemed to hate them. They’d look at me like I was a monster.
It was the strangest place I’ve ever worked. I felt like I was in a crazy movie.

How to deal with a creepy manager?
My manager keeps hitting on me in some way or other. Like just yesterday he was complimenting me too much on my lip shade.
Asking for 1:1 meetings specially in late work hours almost every next day.
He knows I am married but still keeps doing it.
My husband recently lost his job and I have switched recently too, so quitting this job really isn't an option.
And the manager really holds too much power here.
Any suggestions how do I deal with him :-(

So Mr. Manager Thinks I Have No Life After 6:30!😤
So my Manager is a total workaholic, logging in crazy hours late into the night. Now he expects me to stay till 8:30 with no extra pay! I usually log out by 6:30, and honestly, I couldn't care less about my average rating this year.
But his constant pressure to work overtime is seriously messing with my mental health. Anyone else dealing with this?😅

Shoutout to the amazing managers out there!
Let's be honest, who hasn't complained about their manager at some point? But today, I want to ditch the usual rant and give a big shoutout to the amazing human who runs my team!
So, I just got back from a trip that I planned ages ago . And as landed, I get a message from him saying, "Hey, don't worry about being slammed today! Take it easy, get settled back in, and jump into work when you're ready."
Seriously, that kind of support and understanding is pure gold. Feeling so grateful for a manager who actually cares.
Do you have an awesome manager?

So can we talk about the toxic work culture of India?
Before I begin, I want to clarify this isn't a rant. I know someone is going to say it so I'm going to preface that.
We work a crazy amount of hours and are expected to be online at all times.
The work place seem to have a culture where they freely accuse others of being lazy or incompetent.
Managers seem to have no qualms insulting, berating, or being condescending towards their team members
When things get stressful, lots of people begin yelling on the call. No one thinks that crosses the line.
Lots of unprofessional, unwarranted comments about women's bodies, dress, and looks.
In general, disrespectful towards others, bordering on being a bully.
These are just general observations that I have observed on multiple projects and multiple teams. I am having trouble finding any places to openly talk about it. So I posted this here🤷♂️

Dealing with a Jealous Boss😥 How to Overcome Workplace Envy?
My boss acts supportive one day and jealous the next. While everyone is working hard, I've noticed my boss seems uncomfortable with my success. I'm not sure if this is favoritism or something else.
How can I handle this situation?😔

Boss is Making My Life Miserable😥
I recently put in my notice at my current job, and things have gotten even worse. My boss has been saying some really hurtful things to me, and I'm not sure how much longer I can handle it.
I'm a fellow, which means I have to give a 30-day notice to stay in good standing with my fellowship organization. But at this point, I don't think I can stick it out for that long.
I'm considering emailing my fellowship organization for advice, maybe even begging them to let me leave early. But I'm not sure if that's the right move. I have a new job lined up outside of my field, and my background check has already passed.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm feeling really overwhelmed and stressed right now.

What do employees really care about?
It's not:
❌ free pizza,
❌ happy hours,
❌ or company swag.
Those are just perks.
They are nice to have.
Here’s what employees actually do care about
(according to my friend Reno Perry):
✅ Fair pay. Pay them what they're worth.
✅ Trust. No deception from their leaders.
✅ Support. Managers who help them grow.
✅ Respect. Treat people like humans, not machines.
✅ Purpose. Work that has meaning to them.
✅ Flexible schedules. Work-life is crucial.
Dear leaders,
It’s not about fancy perks.
It's about meeting your teams’ needs.
What would you add?🤷♂️

A Manager destroyed employee family
Mr. ABC got offered in company XYZ as a fresher with probation of 1 year in 2022. ABC started working with XYZ and got into familiar project. His manager Mr. CRUEL always try to bring him down at the start of his career. ABC tried hard completing all tasks assigned to him, by connecting with other team members, learning to complete his tasks even if it's midnight. Strived to keep on track till 11 months from the day he joined. Mr. CRUEL, escalated him with very silly and fake reasons and made him out of project. As his probation coming to end they schedules a call with HR, showing all fake screenshots and made false allegations and made him resign company within 11months 10days.
Mr. ABC marriage got fixed, but due to job less he lost his marriage life, applying for other companies not taking him due to the reason of terminated during probation. No job, no marriage, no respect in family & society. No peace!! These kind of managers must be punished.

RANT!
I used to believe in karma, but now I’m doubting it.
Why do scammers get away with everything 😒, while people like us—who don’t harm anyone—suffer the fallout?
It feels like those who act badly never face consequences🤷♂️.
Is life really this unfair?
Honestly, I don’t think anyone's balancing things.
I could be like them, but my conscience won’t let me—and that doesn’t make me weak.

How to Spot Faux Friends and Colleagues at Work?
There's this coworker that gives me weird vibes. Not only are they too talkative but they also seem to fake friendliness.
Example: They ask you "How's work?!". You explain it's going fine with some delays and then laughingly they respond "Are you complaining now?!".
Overall, I like to just get my job done and not engage in such chats as they are often cringe but this person is like my boss in a way. How do I put up with them? A chat with them often feels like they doubt my competence or are interviewing me yet again.
Recently, they scheduled some meetings but strangely cancelled them after just two occurrences and they never texted me to tell me why the meetings were cancelled. These specific meetings felt like further interviews so I'm not sure if this isn't a clue I'll be fired soon.
What's my way out of this?🤷♂️

Heartbroken for My Sister😢
My heart is broken. My sister, who works at Pocket FM was just laid off. She loved her job so much and had been there for years. It's been a tough time for her, especially knowing that she's losing a job she was so passionate about.
We're trying to be there for her and offer support, but seeing her so upset is hard.
Does anyone have any advice on how to help someone cope with losing a job they loved?🤷♂️

My manager sent a colleague to show up outside my house when I didn't answer an email.😒
So, I didn't check my emails yesterday because I was unwell, I took my annual leave. My manager was calling me on my phone, but I didn't answer! Wasn't looking at my emails either obviously.
I get a message from my neighbor, saying there is some lady standing on our door knocking constantly. We were not expecting any deliveries. So, I asked my neighbor to take a picture of the person because I went out for a while.
To my shock, the person in the picture was my colleague. I was confused because I am not friends with any of my colleagues that I would share my house address with them. So, I go into my emails to contact HR about this and find an email from my manager that as I am not responding to phone calls or emails, she sent a colleague over to my home to talk to me in person about this 'urgent task.'
My manager is now literally stalking me in my own property. I have emailed HR about this. I would take legal action but we don't earn enough money to be able to pay legal fees.🤷♂️

I recently joined a startup and have been appreciated by the CEO and co-founders. Despite my feedback that we don't need more hires, a VP of Growth is joining with a much higher salary than mine. I found that he lacks.. deep marketing knowledge, but the CXO office still hired him.
How can I effectively show his shortcomings to senior management?

What do you want from a Manager?
We all have examples of bosses we didn’t mesh well with. Ideally, in a professional environment, what would you like from your manager?
What has made you like working for someone in the past?
What did someone do that made you say I would follow them to another company just to keep working for them?
Clear goals? Clear priorities? Weekly one on ones? Help solving problems? Help working between departments? Help

I have such bad anxiety from this environment the VP created.
I just need to vent I guess. I need to work on my resume and I started to but there’s so much that I do as the HR Assistant and so much of my confidence my VP has chipped at that I feel so overwhelmed looking at it. How do I get a grip of myself and overcome this anxiety?😫
Everyday there some kind of mess and I just can’t no more. I need to get out for my health sake. I need a little encouragement cuz I started to downplay the importance of my role and it’s contributions and I want to give myself the opportunity I deserve. Why does it feel so bad when these high powered a****s treat you like this?

No one listens to anything I say at work and I'm starting to hate my job😒
I give suggestions and they're ignored. It's even worse when I ask a question, it highlights a clear flaw in the project/product, and I get ignored, only for someone else to say the same thing later, and everyone decide to fix it.
I'm a manager which makes it worse. I've built bridges, I go out of my way to offer help to other teams. Nothing. I'm left out of meetings on accident because they forgot to invite the content manager.
I'm tired of having to get other managers to help me fix things because I'm no one at the company. I've raised this with my manager, but it's going nowhere. The only way out, I've said, is to give me a title other than content.
What makes things worse is that when I was promoted to manager, it wasn't announced. Everyone else who got promoted got an announcement email.
I have another meeting with my manager this week. What am I even supposed to say? It's demoralizing going to work at this point. I can't even help my team when there's a problem.😖😖

Is Boss Pleasing: The Key to Corporate Success?
I've been thinking about this a lot lately, how much does your relationship with your boss really matter in corporate settings, especially for non-tech roles?
It seems like a lot of people say that your success is almost entirely dependent on how well you get along with your boss. If you're in their good books, everything's great. But if you're not, it can be really tough to get ahead.
Has anyone else noticed this? And if so, how do you deal with a boss you don't get along with?

GenZ as workforce
I've heard concerns about Gen Z being seen as less serious, lacking manners, and careless about their impact. Is this why:
a) Millennials are holding onto their jobs better, as managers are used to their work style.
b) Freshers are struggling more to get jobs compared to 3-4 years ago, even from top colleges (Latest IIT placement reports).
Is this true, or am I just being overly optimistic about my own job security? 😂

What do y’all discuss in one to ones with your manager?
Every two weeks I have a one to one with my manager. During those two weeks we meet in 3 different sprint meetings; so he knows well what I am working on.
To highlight my work with more details in one to one might take max 10 minutes. I don talk much myself, neither does he.
What more should I do to address myself better or what else should I discuss?🤔
Your advice is much appreciated!

Toxic Boss? Don't Tolerate It!
I once had a boss who was a nightmare. He constantly tormented and made fun of me. Thankfully, I eventually escaped that toxic situation and found a supportive leader who helped me grow into a leader myself.
The biggest disappointment was losing my self-respect while working for someone who thought disrespecting me was amusing. There are way too many crazy bosses out there. If you find yourself in a similar situation, don't hesitate to leave as soon as possible. Losing your self-respect is a form of emotional poverty.
Remember: Demand respect or quit. What's your experience with toxic bosses?

Toxic work environment🤨
One senior engineer in my team constantly mocks me for not being efficient, based on mistakes I made early on.
He taunts me, even in front of others, to seem cool.
At first, I didn’t mind, but now it’s affecting me because others also think the same way. I’ve tried snapping back, but it just makes me look rude.
Despite my best efforts to improve, he still finds faults. My manager always sides with him, and talking to him hasn’t helped.
This has crushed my confidence and I’m losing the motivation to work.
Please suggest a way out. 😞
