Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: Quantitative was too easy to solve. In verbal section they gave two passages ,i think it is better not to waste time on those. Sentence correction was also a part of the paper.
Tips: If u prepare R.S.Agarwal verbal reasoning that is more than enough. It is better to concentrate on reasoning section which i think will make the difference with others.
You must prepare well for the written test.
Duration: 75 minutes

Round: HR Interview
Experience: All my interview  questions  included group management skills, leadership qualities unlike puzzles which everyone expect in infosys. They asked me if I have organizes any fest in school or collegeAnd then he gave me a situation - if he is the dean of NITW and  I was the student coordinator, I was supposed to describe the entire procedure. And later he asked me about any situation which i face instantly, and also about my hobbies..It was very cool.
They didn't ask any technical questions., so there was no need of preparation . They concentrated more on leadership qualities and group management skills...
Tips: There is no need to get tensed .Interview is mostly dependent on your analytical and communication skills. It is also better to prepare for the situation-reaction type of questions

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: Aptitude was generic in nature. One with normal practice can clear this. Reasoning: I did not spend time  going through passage Q&A because they takes nearly 20 min (2 passages-10 Qns) to read and to understand whereas total time was 30 min so I left them because all 30 questions carry 30 marks and I concentrated on remaining 20 Questions that dealt with correction of sentences and few on assertion & reasoning, synonyms’ , antonyms etc.Critical Reasoning: was the easiest one.

I gone through the All question quickly (in 30 sec)to search the area where i can score and do in less time.At the end, ahead of 5 min left i had nearly 10 questions left to ans , then started guessing them with rough idea (Nonegative marking).
Tips: Workout the previous papers and questions for Written exam practice them.Maintain the time management in the written exam and do remember no one can solve all the questions in time.
Mainly concentrated on the questions that are in simple in nature, to understand and those will consume less timeto solve

Round: HR Interview
Experience: To say briefly everything revolved around my resume and some situational questions.Questions HR asked me included:1. What you will say about outside circumstances of agitations for Telangana? My ans: I Replied in two words simply as I was familiar with the NEWS
2. How did you secure such high percentages, what was your strategy in securing such high marks?(He went through my Resume , he pointed my percentages that are high (83, 94,78,8.76) so the Question)My ans: Sir, I basically got the interest about the Subjects in the classroom while listening to them and I went through the Text books at home. For exams, practice of previous papers and Mock tests. This was mystrategy in securing marks.
3. If you are a player, you have a game and an exam on same day and at same time , then how you will tackle thesituation ?My ans: Sir, I will take the Exam and I will give up the Game. Then HR Replied “Sports are also important”.I replied him ”Sir , if my track is towards sports then I might have taken such a decision during my class X to mould in that way but I did not. My track is education. To me, Sports are important as extracurricular activity for fitness of the health”
4. You are appointed as Parking area manager for an event in the campus , 500 cars coming then how you willmanage and your plan ?My ans: Sir, (1)I will search for the locality(area) where I can accommodate 500 cars that too very near to mainentrance so I can divert the vehicles traffic from main road of inside the campus.(2). With help of manpower, I will make necessary arrangements for parking like cleaning of the area etc(3). At the main entrance, I will intimate the same on a Big map i.e., location of Parking and directions for it.
5. If your project caught with some problem and where you’re the project manager . How will handle the situation(Not specified about the type of project)? My ans: (1). Sir , I will try to identify the problem where and how it occurred ? and I will try to rectify it with myteam efforts.(2)Even then if it was not done then I will intimate the same to my higher authority regarding it and I will ask themto provide outside agency to tackle that problem because for me continuation of the project and its target time are important.
6. Do you have any questions for me ?My ans: Sir, You look like a senior person in IT services …. I have 2 questions to ask ,1. Mr Obama, President of America used to compare USA with Bangalore of INDIA when ever speaking about ITservices that more talented and more jobs are taken away by the INDIANs.The above statement testifies the capability of INDIANs then My Question is why our IT firms are not taking step to Product development services even we that capability ?HR: Replied in his way.2. Mr Narayana Murthy, former CEO of Infosys , 2 days back said that IT revenues are going to triple in next decade to 1500 Billion Dollars where majority of the projects secured by BRIC countries (Brazil Russia India China). My Question is, what an INDIAN IT firm needs in order to secure more projects as demand is more in the nearfuture ?HR: Replied in his way.

HR Interview:Instances, where I felt that I impressed the HR:1. In shaking my hand (Confidence) in the beginning and wishing him with a smile in the end.2. During the interview he asked me same question(3 Qn in above list) nearly 3 times and I stood to the same ansconfidently.3. The questions that I asked him which are more generic in nature.4. The ans to the 5 Qn.All the interview went in smooth way and in friendly atmosphere.I felt happy.
Tips: Regarding Interview: They came here to take you in to the company but you need to satisfy them with yourcommunication skill and your gestures .If asked question is not related to you in terms of your educational background and where you don’t have much idea then complete it in few words don’t give much otherwise say simply No idea Sir.BEFORE THE INTERVIEW: Write on the Paper what you want to say when they ask you “Tell me about Yourself”. Make them in points in simple words. This is where you need to be strong since irrespective of the Companyand  Job Profile one question that is common is “Tell me about your self ”Don't feel tensed and nervous even if you don't answer all the Qns and be normal

General Tips: Job is deserved So the Mock Interview should be Serious. Before to the day of Interview i asked my friend (who I felt was Good in Communication ) to take my interview. That went seriously  and "That helped me a lot"

3 Interview Rounds

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: Quant + Critical ReasoningIt was very light, a person who is preparing for CAT will excel here. But even a normal candidate can make it easily.I didn't prepare for CAT but it was probably my best aptitude ever. Verbal Section:Verbal is also light (no need of any special preparation), many questions are based on selecting correct sentenceout of wrong ones, some where like two-three sentences will be given with some information and you shouldchoose the appropriate statement from among the options that is incurred from both the statements, 2 comprehensions.
Tips: Quant is very easy, there might be some tricky time taking questions so don't waste your time in solving that try solving next. RS Agarwal is a good book to prepare. Comprehensions are at the start of the verbal section so please don't waste your time in comprehension passage, try to do other questions first as they are very easy.
Duration: 70 minutes

Round: HR Interview
Experience: In Infosys normally, the interview panel members are old experienced professionals. My interview wentreally good, he first asked me about myself, about my future plans, then he asked me about my interests, my C.G.P.A, followed by how I prepared for exams. Then he asked me if I have been in any Co-ordination committee, After that he gave me a situation and then asked me what I would do in that situation. Totally it was light.
Tips: Never be so nervous, as it will affect your performance. In the interview basically they will check for your communication skills, your management skills, your leadership qualities, your ability to work in a group. In the interview never panic, keep cool, try to keep good eyecontact with the interviewer.

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: The written test was divided into three sections - matrix problems, problems on series, and general aptitude problems. The second section was relatively the easiest, but with a time constraint of 4 mins for a total of 20 questions.
Tips: Prepare well for the written as, I think it is the most important stage, which could matter for the rest of the recruitment process.

Round: Group Discussion
Experience: First we were asked to briefly introduce ourselves before we start the main discussion. Each candidate is given 2-3 mins to put out some points on the topic, after which 10 mins was given for an open debate. And then, we wereallowed to briefly conclude on the topic - whether we support the topic or not and why
Tips: In GD, put out some important points which you think need mentioning, and if possible with some real-life example.
Duration: 15 minutes

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: In the technical interview, the questions that were covered were mainly on basic knowledge of the subjects relevant to our study. I was also asked to write a few basic programs and some SQL commands.
Tips: For the technical interview, you need preparation about the basic concepts of the relevant subjects.

Round: HR Interview
Experience: In the HR interview, I was asked mostly basic HR questions which were not at all difficult. The interviewer justconcentrated upon how easy you communicate and more importantly, how confident you are in proving your views.
