General Tips
(Pretty good team this year compared to his year(he was placement coord too), Good that it was in same hostel.) DB didn’t come. I sat for 3 company interviews. 2nd company knew that I had attended the first company’s interview so they didn’t take me seriously. So make sure you send people to interviews according to their preference. Last year, only one mock test was conducted (Momentumtransfer) for core subjects. These should have been more core tests. I also suggest, keep a presentation in the even sem for internships because companies start coming early in August.

General Tips
For EEE students it is very important to know your strengths. Also you got to plan effectively if you are taking GRE and other exams. Try to make your resume company specific. Having too many electronics or other research projects may hurt your chance of getting in companies which don't have suitable profile. For EEE students it is safe to learn basic programming skills in C , C++ . Having any software projects done in C,C++,Java languages is helpful. Unless anyone is interested in power systems related company it is beneficial for others to learn basic programming. Generally first round is toughest round to clear. So familiarity in basic aptitude questions is necessary. Interviews again require company specific preparation. A lot depends on luck at this stage to get a final offer.

Application
I was interviewed on-campus for Project engineer role at Wipro
Interview Process
Case Study Interview Group Discussion HR Interview
Round 1

Case Study Interview

Interview Questions
  • Question 1: Should “Social Media” technique be used for educational purposes.
Interview Experience
Its not an elimination round, you can go with your informal clothes on.
Interview Tips
Any one who has prepared for day 1 and day 2 companies will get through this round. Just read news papers and learn to shoot graphs here and there even if it has got absolutely no facts and definitely practice to write a lot. Be prepared with both for and against the topic coz the interviewer keeps changing the topic in between the GD.The topic was same as that of the case study Don’t write bullet-ed points, this makes your cases look small. Try applying your vocabulary spectrum. Try to give exhibits even if you don’t know any facts.
Round 2

Group Discussion

Interview Experience
12 students on the table, one interviewer.
Interview Tips
Play old school .But don’t wait for your chance, just break into it, but with a gentlemanly attitude. Try giving examples. Throw arbitrary facts to prove your points, if you don’t remember the real figures.
Round 3

HR Interview

Interview Questions
  • Question 1: Tell me something about yourself and about the company
  • Question 2: Who is the present CEO
  • Question 3: Extra-acads related questions
  • Question 4: Coding related questions(only if your CV shows you are a coding studd)
Interview Experience
Two interviewee were present.
Interview Tips
Don’t start with your brilliancein your core subject. Tell them you hate your department. Convince them that you won’t ditch them for a Ph.D or an MBA. Tell them you have a friend at Wipro who keeps giving you intel about how great the company is. Look confident and if at times you can be funny, they will appreciate it!!

8 and above CGPA is required. Later it was lowered to 7.9, mine was 7.98. They mainly ask HR questions, so being involved in Extra-academic activities gives you more that you can talk of. I had an eye for coding in C++. Helped me on this, but my extra-acads list was enough. Coding was just a bonus. If they are non core its better. But my both the internships were core based. You just have to convince them why you are dropping from core.

        • Section 2: Logical Reasoning
        • Section 3: Verbal Section
        Interview Experience
Q/A section mainly focused on General Aptitude. I was given 25 questions and 35 mins. Logarithms, permutation combination like that it was there. I did this well and got all of them attended. We cannot skip the questions and all of them have to be answered. Then there is an interval of 1 minute between sections.

L/R section had large comprehensions. Once you understand the paragraph, you can answer next 4 – 5 questions. but it will take time. And then there were number series, directions only. I did not have time at the end and cannot attend 2 questions. So do it fast.

Then the verbal section. It had lot of synonyms and antonyms. It was easy too.
        Round 2
