Ppl divided in groups. Some in favour other in against. Iphone users called it a excellence and vice versa. I made some good points and then sat back and allowed them discuss. Then i stepped in and lead the discussion. Others also made good points so i consider led their points but also treated it small to my logic. Sometime it became fish market then i retreted. At the end it concluded well in my favour.
Interview Tips
You dont have to talk endlessly. Make ur point and fall back. Think and talk logic. Wait for your turn. As someone voice drops down, you increase your voice and take it from their. Keep voice modulation. Dont raise your hand. Appreciate others. Try to be a leader. Stay calm but speak.

Technical + HR Interview

Interview Experience
This was supposed to be a technical interview but it turned out to be a normal conversation. They asked me about myself and other questions. They tested my confidence. Some easy technical questions were asked which i replied well. I told them about my past articleship experience, they digged into that. Then they asked some casual questions to which i changed my style and replied accordingly. It ended on a positive note. I was confident thag i will get selected.
Interview Tips
Stay confident. Stay true. Shoe that u ll work hard for company and you are their to stay. Take interview in areas of your confort. If somewhere its getting in your weak area then take it back to your area.

Aptitude test was not so hard, we just needed to manage our time and shouldn't be stuck at one question. anyone having average aptitude can solve almost 90% of the question.I was able to do all the 50 question with more than 95% accuracy.

Don't give more than one minute to any question.first, go through all the question and do as many as you can.

there was a group of 7 students for a GD and there were 2 panelists who were judging us. they told us to give a final opinion of all of us together after the GD. and we all were agreed that China is the threat to Indian industry but rather than banning Chinese product we have to make it easy for foreigner and Indian to open industry in India.
Interview Tips
Don't repeat the same statement again and again
Speak at least two times in a GD to give your opinion
Starting and ending the discussion is good but only if you are confident enough that you are giving quality content.

1 - I told vert general answer and at last, I told them about my current project and they asked question about how my project work will me in their company
2 - I was able to answer some of them
3 - Told them and they look satisfied with my answer.
Interview Tips
In introducing yourself tell about your favorite subject and project if you are doing any.
don't tell you don't know for any technical question, always tell you don't remember (this make a huge difference)

the entire round was written, there were four panelists who visited our campus. the eligibility criteria were 60% in all 10th 12th and all semesters in engineering also all the subjects needed to be cleared in on first attempt itself.
the first round had questions on general quantitative questions. If you have solved R.S Agarwal this part would be very easy.
the paper did not have any mechanical technical questions but there were questions on physics like kinematics mechanics etc.
there were 45 questions and 50 min. almost 78 attempted and 32 got short listed.

practice Rs agarwal questions especially the last 50 questions of most chapters.

Interview Experience
there were two technical panelists. they first asked me to explain what was my internship. since I did my internship in a steel plant they asked me to explain the product flow. they also asked me to write zones of blast furnace and function of steel melting shop. then they asked me to the above questions. mostly on material science and manufacturing engineering.
one of the panelists showed me a pen and asked how would you harden the surface of the pen? So I asked him as a designer I would need to know the loads being applied on the pen. He wanted the exact answer and was impressed. he then asked me questions on power plant engineering. I had not studied any course on it so I told them that I know only basics. so they asked me to draw a block layout. I had mentioned that I participated in SAE Baja. so he asked me what type of designed I had done. Then he asked me to tell the parameters to be considered in designing a conveyor belt.
Interview Tips
be very thorough with internship or project. expect questions on power plant and turbomachines.

They have shortlisted around 60 members from all the applications they have got. I think there was a CGPA cut-off of 7.5. Try maintaining your CGPA above 8 if you are aiming for a core company.
Interview Tips
This is the most important step in the placement process. A resume is something that gets you to an interview. Many tend to neglect this and start preparing resume 1 week or 10 days before the deadline. I started preparing my resume around 1 month before which would give you time to get it reviewed by the seniors. Ideal time I would say for starting off would be mid-July. Be prepared to defend whatever you write on your resume. And this doesn't mean that you can fake on your resume.

We were given a time of 2min to think over the topic and prepare notes. We all had a good discussion and successfully we were able to conclude at the end of 10min. I didn't start the GD neither did I conclude it. I have raised a few valid arguments and more importantly was able to drive the group. Also, I gave a chance to one of the non-speakers in our group.
Interview Tips
Be aware of current affairs. Concentrate on their implications rather than what is happening which gives you a good insight into the issues. Stick to basic ground rules of a GD - No heated arguments, never interrupt others and drive the discussion towards a conclusion. There is no such rule like you have to start or conclude a GD to get shortlisted for the next round. Try to be actively involved in the discussion throughout. If you do not know much about the topic, wait till others speak and try drawing some points which you can put forward.

Interview Experience
The interview was very informal. I was prepared for everything that they asked except that design of a hood. They weren't expecting an answer from me rather they wanted to see my approach towards the problem. They were impressed with my internships and asked a few questions which I answered.

Everything depends on how you drive the interview. Be confident and show your enthusiasm for getting into the company.
