Test HR Interview Technical Interview
Round 1

Test

Duration
00 Minutes
No. of Questions
1 questions
Test Sections
  • Section 1: Aptitude Test
Interview Experience
For TCS we had aptitude test of 30 questions and we got 1 hr to complete it. As we engineers are good at preparing at the last moment, I did the same thing. I googled TCS aptitude sample paper and tried to study there paper, like what types of questions you get, which topic has the highest weightage etc. Studying this all papers I made a list of topics I need to cover.
Then I started practicing. when my test started I was confident about the 21 questions I answered out of 30. As there was negative marking so I didn't attempt the test. Most of the questions are answered were from the topic I covered earlier.
Interview Tips
1) Don't do donkey work, be SMART. Before attacking on apptitude books and start solving questions, do a bit of homework; shortlist the topics and then practice.
2) Connect to different college students where the company has already visited and try to get some information from them.
3) If there is negative marking, Attempt the questions only if you are 100% confident.
4) Keep calm during the test.
Round 2

HR Interview

Interview Questions
  • Question 1: Introduce yourself in a different way
Interview Experience
There were three inerviewers in the panel. Like all other candidates I have memorised the introduction.
One of the interviewer asked me introduce myself in a different way as she was boared of listening the same introduction again and again.
So I started with the meaning of my name and then started basic information like that where do I start, schooling, hobbies, family etc.
Interview Tips
Be prepared for the suitation. Go through different interviews on youtube.
Be calm and smile while talking.
Dont get panic, Introduction matters but if that doesn't go well don't worry you still have chances.
Round 3

Technical Interview

Interview Questions
  • Question 1: Tell me about your Final year project
Interview Experience
They asked me to explain the final year project. I explained them drawing a daigram. If you think you are not able to convince them then use a metaphor. Give them examples of the real world scenario.
Interview Tips
1) Before going for interview keep that in mind that interviewer is not stupid and you can't fool him. If you are trying to fool him then he will know and it might not be good for you.
2) If you don't know about anything they asked, don't keep beating around the bush, be honest and tell them you don't know. That shows your one quality that you are honest.
3) Keep an eye contact with everyone in panel, try to get them in a conversation.

I was interviewed on-campus at Techno India College of Technology (TICT) for FresherOnCampusInterview role at TCS
Interview Process
Test
Round 1

Test

Duration
80mins Minutes
No. of Questions
30 questions
Test Sections
  • Section 1: APTITUDE QUESTIONS
Interview Experience
In my experience if you have a good communication skill .. Then it is important to focus on this round because if you clear the aptitude round .. you have already won half the battle ..

For preparation of aptitude .. I went through the book Quantitative Aptitude by Arun Sharma.. and the website CAMPUSGATE ... basically I read the entire theory of Arun Sharma and solved the Level Of Difficulty 1 Questions .. Campus Gate is enough to clear Aptitude of TCS ... however I only solved the parts that I thought I was not so good at .. for example .. Permutation and combination .. probability .. mixtures .. Number systems etc..
Interview Tips
1. Do smart study .. do not waste time solving each and every questions .. skip the part that you are sure you can tackle ..
2. During the test .. dont look at the clock .. It only slows you down .. If you dont look at the clock you have ample time to solve and revise ..
3.Some of the questions also have formulas written for help below .. so dont only look at the questions .. if the question is tough .. do check whether the formula is given or not ..
4.Some of the questions can be solved just by looking at the choices .. So if you get stuck .. try solving by looking at the choices ..
5.Online onscreen calculator is given ..
6.Not all the questions are to be solved ... Aim to solve somewhere between 20 and 24 ..
7. Two questions have more marks than others .. Try to attempt those first ... They are marked with a star sign ...
8. Last but not the least .. Appear for mock test on the tcs website nextstep.tcs .. there is an option openSeeSame ..

31 questions

  • Section 1: Mail writing
  • Section 2: Aptitude test
Interview Experience
The mail writing section was ok. But it took me more then 70 mins to solve 20 questions out of 30 in aptitude section.
Interview Tips
For mail writing : Time duration is 10 mins. Try to maintain formal style. Form small sentences. Use every word without any changes. Do not even change the tense of the verb. For Aptitude : Time duration is 80 mins. Total 30 questions. Be cool and try to understand the question. Refer m4maths.com's TCS section for preparation. TCS is giving 80 mins for 30 questions. So accordingly imagine the difficulty level.
Round 2

Interview Experience
I had a interview of 45 mins. It had started from introduction. Then about my projects. And the most famous question for Electronics students: you are so good in electronics. You did very good projects. So you have interest in electronics. why are you here ? I have managed my answer by asking question to the interviewer .Then I had a lot of questions on C programming and then SQL and PL/SQL. They actually tested my programming knowledge. After that rest questions are from my hobbies and interests. then at that time only I came to know my result unofficially.
Interview Tips
Be yourself. Don't try to cheat if you are not in a good position.
Round 3

HR Interview

Interview Experience
Had a 15 mins interview about my career and TCS service agreement. And some questions on my hobbies.
