  • Question 2: 2) What is multithreading?
  • Question 3: 3) What is operator overloading?( Explain with a pseudo code.)
  • Question 4: If I have 1 to 10 numbers in an array and if one of the numbers is missing then how will you find out which one is the missing number?
Interview Experience
The first round was the tech round in which firstly I was asked about things on my resume (e.g. I had done a course in Embedded Systems, so the interviewer asked me in which language I was made to code etc.)  If I have 1 to 10 numbers in an array and if one of the numbers is missing then how will you find out which one is the missing number? ( The answer is that you have to add all the numbers in an array and then compare the sum with the expected one. The difference between the two is the missing number) Puzzle: If 3 ants are travelling along the sides of a triangle only in one specific direction then what’s the probability that the ants don’t collide.?( Don’t remember exactly, so refer to the same book mentioned above for the question as well as the solution  Design a lift with minimum amount of inconvenience on the part of user. ( The answer is—You should divide the total no. of floors in even floors and odd floors and then design )

    I don't think any specific preparation can be done for this kind of interview. Being confident about your answer is the only way to crack this kind of interview. Questions as varied as 'Why Steve Jobs is cooler than Bill Gates' or 'What's the capital of Uganda' were asked, because my profile/answer had such references.
    Don't bullshit, don't tremble and you will good to go!

      The process started on 30th night with the GD for Credit Suisse. It was in groups of 8, duration 10 mins, the topics were common knowledge like entrepreneurship in India, FDI etc and though knowing and reading current news would be an advantage, but nevertheless you can do good with good presence of mind. My group’s topic was entrepreneurship in India and I knew nothing about it. Initially I was worried that I would not have anything to speak. But during the course of the discussion, lots of ideas kept coming to me as people started speaking randomly on the topic. Though I could speak only 2-3 times in the discussion but I made sure that I had substantive points and that I was clearly stating them. I think that was what got me through it.

      In their 1st, they asked the same beginning questions on resume, spent some time on my intern work moving on to 2 puzzles and then end. It was short and went really well according to me. Therefore, probably, I was directly forwarded for a 2nd round.

They do not have any definite number in mind to select for interview. For our year 20 were selected.Previous year 60 were selected. In the written round, we were given All theory type questions. For the coding part, just the algorithm or even the logic was accepted..

                  I had my interview scheduled at 11 am but I got a call from the volunteer at 9am for the interview. When I reached there, they had already selected 3 students and 1 other had his 3rd or 4th round going on. I was called in and after some questions on my resume and 2-3 small puzzles it was over. Then they told me that I had no more rounds. So my interview with CS was just a formality and I didn’t care because I anyway didn’t want to join it.
                  Interview Tips
                  If you are really targeting CS, try to schedule your interview earlier by talking to the volunteer (interviews start from 6 am) or go to the interview spot as early as possible and request them to take yours earlier. This would show your interest in their company and also you’ll have a better chance (than I had) if you are good.
