I had a standard resume for this company as per the norms of our institute’s placement cell. I wanted to get recruited in an IT/ITES related company hence I stressed upon my knowledge of data structures, programming and micro-processors.

The first round was the written test. The questions asked were of digital electronics and programming.
Interview Tips
Try to brush up your knowledge of C++ to fare well in the written test. The book on C++ by Yashwant Kanetkar was very useful in revising all the concepts.

HR Interview

Interview Experience
The next round was the interview round. They were interested in testing my knowledge in C++ and networking. I was asked to explain the difference between “IF-ELSE” statement and the SWITCH statement. The interviewer also asked me to give a real life example of circular link list. Some basic questions on classes, inheritance and abstraction were also asked. Then they ventured into asking some questions on networking, but since I had not studied networking, I did not know the answers to those questions. I informed them about my lack knowledge in networking – I wasn't asked any further questions from the topic.

They started their questions with my Projects and Internships, which I explained to them. They asked about my favourite subject. My answer was Computer Networks and Algorithms. Then they asked about the OSI Layers, and then about Ethernet and LLC.He then moved to OS Questions, Interrupts, etc. Then Binary search trees, difference between bst and binary tree and then about B+ trees, AVL trees. Finally, I was asked to write a simple C-code - a program to find the last 5th node in a linked list in one traversal.

Nearly 150 people appeared for exam. Approx. 30 were selected for interview. 2 Interviews: one HR and one Technical. Some people had 2 technical interviews. Finally 9 were selected.  In the technical interview : Most questions were asked related to Programming esp. C. Lot of questions were asked on pointers and OS concepts . I was asked to write a program on circularly double linked list. Questions were asked on data structures and Device drivers. Some questions on my project. HR interview is easy and straight forward.

For interview/GD/Test preparation did you prepare in groups or individually? Which one do you think helps the most? Any details you provide will be of great help   For tests, my friends and me prepared together. And for interviews ,we refereed online. Those were helpful esp. for HR interviews.

1) Accept boldly if you do not know anything
2) Be confident when you are answering
3) Ask them questions once again if you do not understand
4) Ask time, if you feel you need more time to regroup
things.
General Tips
Communication skills and enthusiasm towards work is necessary.

Give them the impression that you feel confident when you look at yourself and your profile. Do not use expressions like “may be, can be”, always make sure it is “will be” or “will not be”. All the best .
